The above phrases are often used in Japanese conversation.
These are all variations of the word “owaru（おわる、終わる）.”
So what does this mean and what are the examples?
What is the Japanese meaning of “owaru（おわる、終わる）” and “owatteimasen（終わってません）”?
“Owaru” means “end,” “finish,” etc.
There are many examples of sentences because they change in a simple format, casual or polite expressions.
The basic form of this word is “owaru（おわる）.”
Kouji ga owaru.
（こうじがおわる、工事が終わる。）
A construction is over.
Giron ga owaru.
（ぎろんがおわる、議論が終わる。）
A discussion ends.
Shukudai ga owaru.
（しゅくだいがおわる、宿題が終わる。）
I finish my homework.
Katazuke ga owaru.
（かたづけがおわる、片付けが終わる。）
The tidying up is over.
Eiga ga owaru.
（えいががおわる、映画が終わる。）
The movie is over.
“Owaru” basically changes as follows.
owaranai（おわらない、終わらない）
owarutoki（おわるとき、終わるとき）
owareba（おわれば、終われば）
oware（おわれ、終われ）
When this word is spoken casually, there are examples such as:
Mousugu owaru yo-.
（もうすぐ終わるよー）
It will be over soon.
I will finish it soon.
Aa-, yatto owatta-.
（あぁやっと終わったー）
Ah, it’s finally over.
Ah, I finally finish it.
Nakanaka owaranai.

Examples of formal expression of “owaru”
Examples of formal expressions for “owaru” are:
Mada owattemasen.
（まだ終わってません）
It is not finished yet.
Ano kouji ga mada owatte imasen.
（あの工事がまだ終わっていません。）
That construction has not finished yet.
Hayaku ano kouji ga owaru to ii desu ne.
（早くあの工事が終わるといいですね。）
