Long time Marucci fan-this is the one! Trey Player
Pros: Best pop, feel, balanced and quite a difference from Cat7. We’ve been Marucci fan for years but this is their best bat by far. Feel is a step up from 7 and I’ve swung my teammates Eastons and LS’s. They don’t compare if you want a balanced bat for high school baseball.

The differences between these two bats are small. The Marucci Cat 8 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC8BG is going to have better vibration technology as well as upgraded alloy compared to the Marucci Cat 6 GEN 2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC62.

Is this considered a "big barrel"?

A few years ago this would have been considered a "big barrel" bat, as that term used to reference anything larger than the smaller, 2 1/4" barrel size. Those bats are not in production anymore, so "big barrel" mostly refers to the 2 3/4" barrel diameter that is used for USSSA play. This bat has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, like all BBCOR models are required to have, not a 2 3/4" barrel.
